Ms. Bandy had such a positive impact on my life. While being a very strong believer in the rules while I attended Lawrence North, she was honestly the nicest lady. She was the person who did my exit interview when I decided to pursue my GED. She expressed to me that she wanted me to come back and let her know how everything went. I never got the chance to do so, but it meant so much to me that she really did care. Such a huge heart, I remember the look on her face every time I walked into her office after being pulled out of class. She will be missed by so many. To Ms. Bandy: I passed my GED, actually got honors, had a beautiful son (who I wanted you to meet), I currently work full time as a Manager @ Donato’s. I am starting school in the fall to become an RN. I wish I could’ve thanked you for everything you did for me. So many people will miss you dearly. You’ll always be remembered!

Well as i could remember meeting this wounderful and nice lady by the name is Ms. Bandy. The very first thing that pops in my mind is when i got in trouble for going to Wendy’s when i wasn’t suppose to. So when i went to her office her exact words where “Where is mine?” I said “I didn’t think you would want any.” So she looked at me and then said “Well you know your not suppose to be going to Wendy’s?” Then i said “Well yeah, but i was truely hungry.” She then laughed at me, and said “Well your going to have a dentention.” So i served my dentention, and learned a very good lesson from Ms. Bandy, and that was to never leave Lawrence North High School again to get some food, because i knew that lady was serious. I know she is watching over all of us right now, and she is truely blessed to be where she is today. I just want her to know that i’m praying for her and her family, and i’ll see her agin when i get to heaven.

May God Bless You And Keep You

    Love Always
    JT

Ms. Bandy was one of the only assistant principals that I could connect with at Lawerence North, she absolutely cared about her students, I worked in the front office for two years, and I got the chance to really get to know her. She was proud to be an educator at Lawrence North, and she always showed her school spirit!! There was always a smile on her face that I will never forget. Rest in Peace Ms. Bandy!! You will be missed greatly!!

The excellent educators are those who connect with their students and teach outside the classroom. You worked hours and performed tasks that were no doubt beyond your requirements as an administrator. When I missed school for surgery, you called me at home to check up on me. That meant a lot to an 18 year old girl who thought she had been forgotten. I hope you knew that. You will be sadly missed.

Thank you for your dedication to our education. I can remember your strong presence in the hallways of L.N. 96-2000. You were always there for your students, as a ally and a friend. Rest Peacefully!

Ms. Bandy was truly a great educator. I remember the one and only time I got written up in high school was for having a water bottle in class. I came down to her office, write up in hand, she looked at me, and goes “what on earth are you doing here?” She looked at my write-up,laughed, signed and told me I could have a free period to do whatever i wanted! She always had a smile on her face..a smile that will be greatly missed by everyone.

Mrs. Bandy was an amazing assistant principal. She was strict, but she helped so many students. Even through her battle with cancer, she was strong. She will surely be missed.

I wonder how many students who sat in Phyllis’s classes over the years truly realized what they were seeing? She was a remarkable — exceptional — educator, dedicated to helping young people get a good start in life. To her grieving friends, she was generous and fun-loving, always kind, considerate, totally unselfish. We will miss you. Goodnight, Angel!

I am an alumi of Lawrence North High School from 2008. Even though I didn’t know Ms. Bandy personally, I knew that she was a very nice person who was strong and corageous in fighting her battle with cancer. May she enjoy her time in Heaven. May God bless her.

We were saddened to hear of Phyllis’s passing. She was a great person, educator and friend. We had lost touch over the years, but still thought of her often. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Ms. Bandy will always stand out to me as one of the “cool” teachers and administrators at LN. I never knew her beyond her being an asst. principal, but everytime i spoke to her, she treated me like one of her best friends. Just hearing her say hello and seeing that smile helped me get through some long days in that building. Thanks Ms. Bandy for lighting up the halls and our lives with your smile and your spirit. You will be greatly missed!

Ms. Bandy was a beautiful person. I had the pleasure of getting to know her when my son was a student at Lawrence North. She showed sincere concern in his success and words alone can not express my appreciation and gratitude. God truly has a wonderful angel in his kingdom and I know she is smiling and letting everyone know that she is okay and she is no longer suffering. You will be missed but not forgotten.
